Introducing Lucina Rose Boyle!

Lucina joined us back in March and we’re happy to show her off to the world!

We would like to formally introduce Lucina Rose Boyle, aka Little Luci, to you fine people! Luci is our now 8-month-old baby girl who is growing like a weed and making her opinions known. She came into the world on March 5th, 2021 (a full 10-weeks earlier than expected) and has been a spitfire since day 1!

Luci was born early due to my severe pre-elampsia. She was a mere 3 pounds and as tiny as a newborn kitten. She spent 46 of the hardest days of our lives in the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) at St. Ann’s hospital. Luci needed some help breathing at first, then she gave us a scare when she developed neo-natal NEC (it’s terrifying and I wouldn’t wish it upon any parent to go through that) but thanks to the Doctor’s and Nurses at St. Ann’s Children’s NICU, she pulled through and came home with us on April 20th, 2021.

Shout out to the St. Ann’s NICU team – Doctors, Janitorial Staff and especially the amazing Nurses. You all are the only reason our baby girl is alive and you helped Lou and I keep it together more than once. You are amazing and we will be forever grateful!

And now Little Luci and Big Bruce are just two peas in a pod, enjoying their days at school and filling our lives with joy (and sleep deprivation). I know all you parents know exactly what I mean!
